Boho Festival Wedding Ideas

Have you ever dreamed of a boho vibe festival wedding in, all from your back yard. Well, that’s exactly what Imogen and Marmaduke managed to create. Now a festival wedding might not sound like everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s fine, but chances are if you are reading this it’s your kind of party. From a wedding photographers’ perspective, I must admit, it was about as photogenic as a wedding can get, so what where some of the main things that the couple considered?

Colour Is Joy

Based out in a field in the middle of summer there was a good chance everything could have looked a bit flat and washed out from a dry June. Luckily, we had a rather wet June, and this meant the trees and grass where both lush. The bride and groom weren’t about to leave this to chance though and had created a stunning centrepiece maypole covered in coloured ribbons, this not only gave the whole field a centralised feeling to it but added so much vibrance to the space.

Camping

It wouldn’t be much of a festival vibe wedding without some camping, and the lovely wedding couple hadn’t skimped here. Set up was some beautiful canvas yurts, there’s several companies that offer this as a service around West Sussex https://www.teeandtoastglamping.com/weddings Just be sure to check that its clear what you do and don’t get included within the package you choose, you don’t want all your guests just turning up with a toothbrush if they need a sleeping bag

Drinks

One way or another drinking part of a festival vibe, that doesn’t have to mean alcohol, but in this case, all bases where covered by the absolutely stunning visual pleasure of https://www.thebuffalo.co.uk .The converted airstream is one of the most photogenic vendors I’ve ever seen at a wedding, and out in the middle of a field at sunset and in the dark when the lights where turned on, it was without wanting to be dramatic, epic. They had an amazing variety of cocktails both the fun kind and the sensible kind, plus the team had such good energy.

Things to do

I believe a key overlooked area of wedding fun is giving the guests things to do, chatting with long lost family and friends is a massive part of why weddings are so special, but they are usually a long day, and giving guests something to does a few things, number one it can be an icebreaker for the more introverted guests, some people find it really hard to just stand and talk to someone, but give them a task or game to play and even the most introverted can feel more comfortable. Second, it gives a bit of extra energy to the party, games, face painting, it all adds laughter and fun, and it feeds the day. Lastly they can be a great way of escaping from that guest who just won’t stop chatting to you but you wish they would (we have all know one) Imogen and Marmaduke opted for crochet, fish the duck, and the very festival feeling face decorating with glitter and stick on gems.
