Wedding Photography FAQs

Planning your wedding is exciting — but it can also feel like a never‑ending list of decisions. To make things easier, we’ve answered the questions couples ask us most often about wedding photography, our style, coverage options, travel, and what to expect on the day. Our goal is simple: to help you feel relaxed, informed, and confident that your memories will be captured beautifully.
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in West Sussex, but we happily travel across the UK. Most of our weddings take place in Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, and London, but we frequently head further afield — including the Lake District, Scotland, and destination celebrations. If you love our style, we’ll come to you. Travel is included locally, and we’ll always be upfront about any extra mileage or accommodation if your venue is further away.
What is documentary‑style wedding photography?
Documentary‑style photography means capturing your day exactly as it naturally unfolds — the laughter, the emotion, the hugs, the subtle glances, and all the small in‑between moments that make your wedding uniquely yours. We don’t orchestrate or interrupt the flow of the day. Instead, we blend into the background, allowing you and your guests to relax so your photos feel real, unposed, and genuinely you.
If you’d like some gentle direction during portraits, we’ll guide you in a natural, effortless way.
Do you do formal group photos?
Absolutely. While our heart lies in candid storytelling, we completely understand how important family group photos are — they become treasured images for generations. We’ll help you organise a simple list beforehand and guide everyone calmly and efficiently on the day so the group portraits feel relaxed and don’t take over your wedding timeline. Most group photo sets take 10–15 minutes depending on your list.
What equipment do you use?
We use only professional, high‑end equipment to ensure your wedding is captured with exceptional quality and reliability:
-
Canon R6 II full‑frame cameras
-
L‑series prime and zoom lenses for the sharpest images and beautiful bokeh
-
Godox flashes and LED lighting for low‑light or evening shots
-
Dual memory card recording for instant, in‑camera backup
-
Professional audio equipment (if filming)
This means your wedding is documented with equipment built for speed, colour accuracy, low‑light performance, and total reliability.
How many photos will we receive?
This varies depending on your package, the length of your day, and how much is happening — but most full‑day weddings include at least 400 fully edited images, often more. We never limit creativity. If it’s a beautiful moment, it goes in your gallery.
When will we receive our photos?
We know how excited couples are to relive their day, so we deliver a teaser gallery within one week. Your full edited gallery is typically delivered within four weeks, beautifully colour‑graded and ready for download.
If you’ve booked video, your highlight film follows on a similar timescale.
Do you offer prints or albums?
Right now, we focus on delivering beautifully edited digital images that you can print anywhere. Online print labs offer outstanding quality and competitive pricing, so we prefer giving you the freedom to choose. If you ever want help selecting a print lab or designing an album, we’re always happy to guide you.
Do we need a second photographer?
Not always — it really depends on your timeline and what’s important to you. A second shooter is helpful if:
-
You’re getting ready in two separate locations
-
You want multiple angles of key moments
-
You have a large guest list
-
You’re booking photo + film and want everything covered seamlessly
