Two Woods Estate Wedding Photography: Rob & Jess’ Joyful Summer Celebration

Some weddings feel like sunshine from the moment they begin — full of laughter, warmth, friendship and that unmistakable hum of excitement. Rob & Jess’ beautiful celebration at Two Woods Estate was exactly that kind of day.

We’d already spent time together before the wedding — walking through the South Downs with their gorgeous dog Indie, wandering through the woods, getting to know each other in the most relaxed, natural way. It set the perfect tone for what was to come: a wedding full of easy joy,

A Morning Full of Energy, Friends and Beautiful Chaos

Bridal Prep Upstairs: Laughter, Friendship and Pure Excitement

I arrived to stunning weather — bright skies, warm air and the perfect summer atmosphere.
Jess was upstairs getting ready with her bridal party, and the room was alive from the start.

They were:

  • teasing each other

  • laughing loudly

  • helping with details

  • hyping Jess up in all the best ways

It was the kind of morning where friendship shines through in the purest way — a tight, supportive group who were clearly thrilled to be there.

And just like with Victoria’s wedding, one of the most emotional highlights was Jess’ first look with her dad. That moment of breath‑held pride, the smile, the emotion — always one of my favourite parts of any day.

Meanwhile, Downstairs With Rob…

Rob was downstairs ticking off the last bits of morning prep — excited, a little nervous, and surrounded by friends who were equal parts supportive and brilliantly teasing.

These kinds of friendships always photograph beautifully:

  • the banter

  • the reassurance

  • the shared anticipation

  • the deep connection you only get with long‑term mates

It set the stage for a wedding filled with emotion, closeness and real warmth.

The Ceremony Among the Redwoods

Two Woods Estate never fails to feel magical, but on this particular day it was glowing.
Sunlight filtered softly through the towering redwoods as guests made their way down to the ceremony space — one of the most peaceful and breath-taking woodland settings in West Sussex.

A Ceremony Filled With Sentiment & Family Love

The ceremony was heartfelt from beginning to end.

One of the standout moments was when Rob’s mum gave a speech — something that took effort, courage and deep love. It meant everything to them, and you could feel the emotional weight of it in the air.

There were tears.
There were smiles.
There were looks between Rob & Jess that said everything without a word.

Drinks in the Woods & Full‑Energy Group Photos

After the ceremony, everyone stayed among the redwoods for drinks — the perfect space for family catchups, hugs, laughter and relaxed mingling.

This is where some of my favourite frames happened:

  • kids playing between the trees

  • groups forming naturally

  • sunlight pouring through the canopy

  • the energetic group shots you only get when everyone is buzzing

Two Woods’ ceremony woods are a photographer’s dream — depth, shade, light, texture, atmosphere.

A Beautiful Indoor–Outdoor Reception

Once everyone headed back up the slope to the reception area, the afternoon settled into a mix of:

  • delicious food

  • the most beautiful diffused light under the clear roof

  • relaxed conversation

  • and some seriously brilliant speeches

The best part?
A close friend of theirs — a professional magician — made his way around the tables performing tricks that left absolutely everyone (including me!) baffled and grinning.

It added such a unique, personal touch to the atmosphere.

Golden Hour Magic in the Bottom Field

As the evening light softened, we took a little trip down to the bottom field — kindly driven down by Rob, the owner of Two Woods. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

Golden hour in that field is something special:

  • wide views

  • tall summer grasses

  • warm sunlight drifting over the trees

  • a quiet moment away from the crowd

Rob & Jess were relaxed, happy and fully in the moment.
We wandered, laughed, soaked up the glow, and created some of the most beautiful portraits of their entire day.

Pizza, Party Energy & A Summer Night to Remember

As the sun dipped lower, the party only grew. The pizza oven fired up, guests fueled themselves for more dancing, and the summer evening turned into the kind of celebration where everyone felt free.

Music.
Movement.
Warm air.
High energy.
People fully in the moment.

Rob & Jess’ wedding didn’t slow down — it carried on in full spirit, full laughter, full connection until long into the night.

It was, in every sense, a day full of love.
